BECOME circular & sustainable

Know more about our traceability process

At  Become we have access to detailed information on every product we make from production to packaging, which allows us to identify the cotton lot used in its production, who sew it or knit it, who audited the quality in each process and the workshops and people involved in the production and packaging of the product.

For the organic pima cotton products, we have traceability from the seed, being one of the only two companies in Peru that have it. On the other hand, for products made with conventional cotton, traceability begins at the purchase of the yarn and reaches the packaging stage in the same way.

BECOME Grateful

It is important to us that each part of the process inspires our essence, starting with promoting the development of our workers.

For this reason, we have an excellent group of people made up mainly of women who can work from home and at the same time take care of their children if they need it.

Because of them  we can achieve all our commitments and BECOME can reach more people.

Project
"La Escuelita"

¨La Escuelita¨ is a project started by BECOME, whose objective is to contribute to the creation of a more prosperous life with more growth opportunities for children in extreme poverty.

To achieve this, in 2003 we set out to collaborate with ¨La Casa de la Providencia¨ in Cajamarca, Peru serving breakfast to 5 children from underprivileged households.

Nowadays thanks to the collaboration from some of our clients we can provide breakfast to a group of 75 children before they start their school day.

But this did not stop there, since 2012 we have also supported the "Serapis" school in the rural area of Cajamarca, created to bring education to low-income children from remote areas to the city. In this school 52 children have access to studies from kindergarten to 6th grade.

Thus, BECOME is in charge of the financing of teachers, basic expenses of the premises and construction of classrooms, recently achieving the implementation of a new classroom with computers so that they can learn more.

Our commitment is to keep helping out these kids to have the necessary resources so that they can fully develop and have more future opportunities.

Sustainable Development according to the UN agenda

BECOME is committed to several of the objectives set out in the UN 2023 Agenda for Sustainable Development, such as those shown below:

Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

In collaboration with the Serapis school, Become has been working for several years to help generate equitable education for children in rural areas of Cajamarca, Peru.

Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation.

We do it by producing garments that take care of sustainability without losing constant innovation.

Guarantee sustainable consumption and production patterns. Protect, restore and promote the sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems and combat desertification. Our cotton was one of the first to be planted in desert lands, in Ica, south of Lima, with innovative technology, fertilizers and natural pest controls, which take care of the sustainability of ecosystems. We also have the Oeko tex certification, which shows that our products pass the test of not containing harmful substances.
